Within this area the child is introduced to aspects of biology, geography, simple science and history.
The geographical equipment includes globes, maps, tactile land and water forms and detailed folders on each of the continents.
Montessori believed that it was very important for children to learn
about the wider world. In doing so, she hoped that they would learn to
respect and care for the whole world (people, animals and plants)
and come to see that all life is interwoven: “... for all things are
part of the universe, and we are connected with each other to form one
whole unity.” - Maria Montessori
